Raw Cacao Powder

The cacao tree is native to tropical regions in Central and South America. Cacao plants have two edible parts: the seeds, or beans, and the fruit. It is from the seeds that cocoa, cocoa butter, and chocolate are made. Raw cacao is made by cold-pressing un-roasted cacao beans. The process keeps the living enzymes in the cacao and removes the fat. It is included in Time 4 Whey Protein Professional as a flavouring but it also contains beneficial substances including the amino acid tryptophan, which the body uses to make serotonin, a brain chemical that helps us to relax, and has high levels of magnesium and zinc, iron, calcium, beta-carotene and omega 6 fatty acids.
