L-Carnitine L-Tartrate

contains a combination of carnitine and Tartrate. L-Carnitine, or Levocarnitine, is a naturally occuring substance synthesised in the body from the amino acids lysine and methionine. It plays an essential role in energy production by transporting fatty acids to the mitochondria where they are broken down to produce energy in the form of ATP. Tartrate is a salt of tartaric acid, a substance that occurs naturally in various plants and fruits. L- Tartrate is used as an additive to enhance the absorption of other substances and is a potent antioxidant. Therefore, combining L-carnitine with L-tartrate enables the body to absorb carnitine more effectively to maximise its benefits.
