Ginger

is native to Asia and is the flowering plant of the Zingiberaceae family. It is a widely used spice that adds flavour to various types of cuisine and provides numerous health benefits due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, neuroprotective, cardiovascular protective, respiratory protective, antiobesity, antidiabetic, antinausea, and antiemetic properties. It can also increase testosterone in men and reduce muscle soreness. These benefits are generally attributed to the phenolic compounds found in ginger, such as gingerols and shogaols.
