Questions & Answers
Where do you train?
Peacock Gym, London.
How do you prepare for a fight (say a month out)?
I'm always in shape, so 4 weeks out a lot of the conditioning work is done, the main focus will be getting sharp for the ring with lots of sparring, pad work and high-intensity running-sprints and fast runs. I train twice a day 6 days a week.
What was your toughest fight to date?
Probably Edgar Sneidze, which was live on Boxnation, he was 8lbs heavier than me at the weigh-in the day before and probably had another 7lbs on me when we got in the ring.
He was 6’2” and with such a big weight and size advantage was a very difficult opponent. I won the fight with a convincing points victory over eight rounds.
What was your sweetest victory?
My first fight over 10 rounds for the British Masters belt was against a big punching opponent, Gary Cooper, who also had a weight and size advantage the day before at the weigh in. I was knocked down in the second round but got up to dominate the fight and beat him convincingly on points over ten rounds. The fight was fought at a fast pace and I handled the ten rounds comfortably.
